Wow, I can’t believe Chris Cornell is gone! Soundgarden was one of my favorite bands when I was in middle school/junior high. I bought three copies of ‘superunknown,’ which is still one of my favorite albums of all time.
Here is the last time Spoonman was performed live, the night Chris passed away:
I made a playlist for work today and kinda love it. Thought I should share.
I love ‘Royal Blood.’ They are one of my favorite rock bands. I have been waiting for new music since their first album, and this song does not disappoint:
If you haven’t listened to the first Royal Blood album, and you like rock/alternative music, you should listen:
I cannot wait for the new album!
I love how the animation is getting an update, according to the single page they’ve posted on the web site. Hopefully Damon Albarn will tour with the new album and I will get to see him again (I’ve seen Gorillaz three times, but I’ve never seen Blur. 😦 ).
Well I feel old, but ‘Original Pirate Material’ is about to be 15 years old (as of March 25th). The album ages pretty well. I never got to see Mike Skinner live, alas.
I was reading this NME article about Pet Shop Boys getting the ‘Godlike Genius’ award, and I realized I never bothered listening to their album ‘Super.’ I watched this youtube clip and loved it:
I ran to the album earlier today. It is pretty good if you like dance-y 80s-ish stuff.
New album from The XX!!!!!
So excited! It’s certainly their most upbeat album.
This story is too much fun, and I’m not really sure why. Check out this NYT piece:
If you haven’t seen the “performance” yet, check it out here:
I was listening to NPR Music today and heard a song called ‘The Game’ by Gabriel Garzón-Montano, and instantly loved it. Here is the song:
He has quite the biography! I can’t believe I haven’t heard his music until today. Drake sampled his music in one of his songs, and he had opened for acts like Lenny Kravitz. You can see his soundcloud page here.
Listening to his album now, it’s pretty good!
Also he seems to be pretty awesome live! Here is a live version of ‘Keep on Running.’
Currently trying to work through NME’s top 100 best albums list here.
Lots to go through. Some of their selections kinda had me confused, but that’s okay.
I’m keeping an open mind, but it’s hard to see an album I could love more than Radiohead’s A Moon Shaped Pool. I love that album so much. If you haven’t heard it yet, and you like Radiohead, you should totally listen to it.
They also made an awesome video for the song ‘Daydreaming’.
